Length of Contract

● 4 years

Salary

Salary increases of 2 to 3.5 %, based upon the percentage change of the CPI (Consumer Price Index)

·Total increase of 8.2% - 14.8% when compounded over 4 years

● Additional $2,000 a year stipend for teachers achieving and maintaining National Board Certification.

Salary increase of 6.5 % per year.

● Total increase of 28.6 % when compounded over four years

● Puts starting teacher salary over $52,000 and maximum teacher salary over $100,000 by end of the contract

Insurance

Personal Choice 10/20/70

    ¨Health insurance contributions would range between 8 and 14 %, depending upon a teacher’s salary and the year of the contract (contributions for vision and dental would be similar)

Co-pays for prescription drugs would be $10 for generic, $20 for brand-name and 90 day mail order with 2 co-pays

Personal Choice 5/15/70 with district paying 100 % of premium

 

· Co-pays to go to $5 Generic, $10 Basic Formula, $15 Brand Non-Formulary and 90 day mail order with 1 co-pay

 

Work Day

● 8 hours to increase student instruction time necessary to meeting requirements of No Child Left Behind

·Maintains continuous 30-minute preparation period for all elementary teachers

● Maintain current 7 ˝-hour day.

● Allow all elementary teachers a continuous 60-minute preparation period

Tuition Reimbursement

● Increase reimbursement from $150 a credit to $250 per credit

● Increase cap for tuition reimbursement from $1,800 to $3,300

● Courses reimbursed only if approved by superintendent

● Increase reimbursement from $150 per credit to $540 per credit

● Change cap on tuition reimbursement from dollar amount to 12 credits

● Any courses reimbursed as long as they are “related to field of education”

Personal Days

● Maintain current level of 2 personal days a year with current restriction on use

● Increase to 3 personal days with no restrictions on how they can be used

Retirement Incentive

● Eliminate current retirement incentive, in light of retirement incentives provided through the state

● Continue retirement incentive.

● Teachers with 25 years of service would receive medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage for 12 years or receive a payment of $50,000

Union Activity-Related Leave

● Maintain current level of nine days of leave for union-related activities.

● Increase days of leave for union-related activities to 12.

· Add 1 day per month paid personal leave for union president.
